Today's College Football Tailgate Thread
Edited on Sat Oct-16-10 12:06 PM by fishwax
Only two games between ranked teams today, but there are still some other interesting games. Highlights include:

#12 Arkansas at #7 Auburn
#1 Ohio State at #18 Wisconsin
Illinois at #13 Michigan State
Texas at #5 Nebraska
#21 Missouri at Texas A&M
#15 Iowa at Michigan

My Sooners have their homecoming game today against Iowa State. :woohoo:

So who is your team playing today? What games are you looking forward to?

5. I'm sure Memorial Stadium will be rocking today
With each passing week it's looking more and more likely that there could be one more "Game of the Century" in the final Big 12 Championship Game. :D

Lotta football left for both teams before that happens, though ...

Honestly, i was apathetic toward the Wolverines before that whole mess.
It'll be a while before i don't automatically cheer for anyone on the other side of the ball of Michigan.

to either the Columbia game on the 30th or the Princeton game on Nov.13th (the Harvard game is in Boston this year)? The Princeton-Yale game should be fun, in its own Ivy League way! Perhaps it will draw some famous Yalies -- several years ago we saw Teddy K and Chuck Schumer tailgating at the Harvard-Yale game in the Bowl -- so ya never know!

29. My team is off today
Edited on Sat Oct-16-10 05:17 PM by JonLP24
Strangely enough so are the Cardinals tomorrow. Usually it is one or the other and not both. :)

I'm mostly watching Yankees/Ranges and Auburn/Arkansas. I haven't really been watching Nebraska/Texas that much because Texas has been in control most of the time. This Auburn/Arkansas game is a good one.

I also have been trying out Borderlands earlier. It is a very difficult game when it comes to specific enemies you have to kill. I run out of bullets and money than I am really out of luck. Tohat is why I'm late. I planned on defeating the latest one earlier and I still didn't succeed.

35. that Auburn Arkansas game has been pretty crazy
Not used to seeing SEC games where both teams score 40+ -- and both will probably have 50 by the time it's over.

Texas-Nebraska wasn't all that interesting until late in the game. UT was up 14 with the ball at about the nebraska 35 and three minutes left. They lined up for a field goal and then had the kicker pooch punt. But Nebraska had a guy back, and he picked up the ball and ran it 95 yards for a touchdown. But Nebraska didn't get the onside kick and then Texas ran it down their throats to run out the clock.

Wisconsin and Ohio State just kicked off -- well, Ohio State just kicked off, and Wisconsin returned it for a touchdown :wow:

I haven't played Borderlands--I'll have to check it out :) (First I gotta upgrade, though--my system is still a PS2--and that probably won't happen for a few months ...)

68. Nice Finish!?
T'was exciting wrap up to a dubious game from both. I'm still not a J. Locker believer. Katz has potential to be the Beavs best and the ball he threw was catchable for the 2pt. conversion. Good call by Riley I believe to go for two.

If the Beavs kick the two, they have to start over again on offense for the next round. Going for the win was better than letting UW know what they had to face after the Beavs next series.

The ball was in his hands! arrrgh. Even worse the dux are now #1.

Which--if it happens--the team that knocks them off, gets to revel in spoiling it. That would be something. :-)

If they win out, fair play, good on 'em. (but who wants that?)
