2. Even as a child of the 60s, I never much liked marihoochie, but that's just
a personal preference. I'l like to see it legalized, but ONLY if there's a field test to make sure people aren't driving while stoned (like a Breathalyzer can tell if people are driving drunk).

The people who say that they can drive just fine while stoned are full of shit.

3. The "field test" is the FST or Field Sobriety Test.
There is no current test to determine if one is CURRENTLY under the influence of marijuana, just if that person had any within the past few weeks or so. However, there is no evidence to suggest that marijuana makes one any worse a driver. So the standard Field Sobriety Test should work just fine.

8. No. Absolutely NO. I, for example, have MS, and so could never pass the
"standard Field Sobriety Test." Even though I can drive just fine, I can NOT walk a narrow line, placing one foot in front of the other as I walk. Especially when it's dark.

That "Field Sobriety Test" got me arrested for DUI once, even though the later Breathalyzer showed that I had NO alcohol in my body (well, yeah, because I hadn't had anything to drink for about six months before that night). Of course, the case got thrown out, but I had to go through an AWFUL lot of undeserved humiliation that night.

14. It's either that or nothing.
I too failed a field sobriety test and immediately after blew a 0.00 . I was coming home from a night of dancing and my legs were like jello. I was let go with a request that I get home and get to sleep ASAP. Can I ask why they didn't give you a breathalyzer BEFORE arresting you?

5. I think Gallagher summed it up well in '81 or so.
"Pot doesn't make me want to do crimes. It makes me want to crash out on the couch."

As for driving, he hit on the problem. "You pull up to an intersection and there's a car WAY down the road coming your direction. You think, 'I'll pull out tomorrow'."

7. He did sort of get a little over the top - the one with the huge couch comes to mind.
I liked his older and more unpredictable things - NOBODY knew the Sledge-O-Matic was coming the FIRST time. After a while, it was sort of a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" thing and people would show up in one-use rain slickers. That sort of took the fun out of it.

BUT, My FAVORITE LINE EVER was in one of the older videos (and I mean VHS):

"Would you look at this guy? He's got a cigarette in one hand and a drink in the other. If he had another hand, he'd need another drug!"

(laughter)

(guy holds up a joint)

"Now WHAT did your mother tell you? If you can't bring enough for everyone, DON'T GET IT OUT!"

--
I think he meant to say "your teacher", but I'm almost positive he said "your mother". I haven't seen that since about '81 or so so I'm not sure and I was probably stoned at the time anyway.

I just saw that there was a loudspeaker company who used hemp for their cone material...can't find a current link but that's pretty cool. Probably makes the music sound better

11. No clue. I know it really pissed off the French "language police" when "Le Big Mac" was introduced.
When I was in Jr. High (mid 70's), they taught he French for "two hamburgers and fries" as "Deu beeftech avec des frits" (I apologize for spelling and don't think I got it right). Now, it is "Le Big Mac" and probably still "frits".
