The Texas Rangers history (don't get your hopes up fans)
Texas Rangers (3007-3174 W-L, 1972 - 2010) - 4 Playoff Appearances almost a .500 team for their history.
Washington Senators (740-1032 W-L, 1961 - 1971)
Overall (3747-4206 W-L, 1961 - 2010) - 4 Playoff Appearances

However, at least you folks get to see a little more baseball. MLB would have hoped for a Yankees San Francisco series, big big ratings. Texas and whoever, uh not so much.

1. Actually, MLB would have wanted another Phillies-Yankees series
But both teams were so hapless, that even MLB couldn't engineer the series it wanted.

This series has the potential to be as interesting and exciting as the Twins-Braves series of 1991, which nobody remembers because everyone was too preoccupied with complaining about how it wasn't the Yankees-Dodgers. Well, boo hoo, but once again, the two best teams are meeting for the championship, and for a change, neither one is the best team money can buy.

2. Getting our hopes up!!
although our own postseason history is also pretty dismal, and even includes a catastrophic earthquake (1989)!

3. Past performance may not be indicative of future results
I guess that disclaimer works for more than just the stock market.

4. Please keep posting.
The acrid tears of Yankees fans make the Rangers stronger.

You may want to consult this for consolation.

6. Angels have a similar "non-success" rate
1961 - 2002: four playoff appearances, one World Series victory.

Lousy records don't mean a thing.

Go, Rangers!
