None of you will ever know how much your support has meant
My son, Marine Sgt. Cody Tallent, will be a former Marine after tomorrow. He is leaving Quantico and coming home to Atlanta. After 8 years of active duty, 2 tours to Iraq, and 1 to Afghanistan, he is leaving the Marine Corp. to become a civilian again. During his time in the Marine Corp, my family has had incredible support from Democratic Underground. The empathy from the people here kept us sane during the weeks we didn't hear from our son. We want to thank all of you for the kind words and encouragement. Whenever I needed it, wherever I was, I had the people here at DU.
Thank you to everyone here.
You're the best.

I cannot imagine what our troops have gone through in Iraq and Afghanistan.

8. Thank you all so much!
My son, my husband, and my daughter (Cody's twin), are all filled with gratitude for the compassion shown us. What is said here, on a daily basis, makes a difference in people's lives.
