Dell looks like they have some good deals on 4 different models today, and I have no idea which one is best for the money, as I've never purchased an HDTV before, but always wanted to upgrade.

If you know what you are talking about, which of those four models do you think would be best for the family?

2. Crap, really? It works for me.
The page isn't text it's like a clickable multi-pic thingy.

3. Just took a quick look
They're all good brands and unless I'm misreading, they seem all to be 1080P (good). Being an old
AV guy, I say get as many inputs as you can. Size is really a personal thing. I've got a 42" samsung in my rather small livingroom and it seems large. My sister just got a 42" for her livingroom that's about 150% the size of mine and it blends in nicely.

I'd avoid plasma, myself. It puts out more heat than LCD and they're more delicate to move around. No big diff in picture quality between plasma and lcd anymore, either.

4. I bought a deal at Amazon
Some one, gads I'm sorry I don't remember who, posted about a great deal on Amazon, I checked it out and bought it and have been happy with it. But what I want to tell you, is if you get cable, you might have to get a new box and pay more for HD. Also, Dell is a red company and you can get as good a deal elsewhere.

6. How important is discrete mounting for you?
You'll get a LOT more TV for your buck if you purchase a DLP set rather than an LCD/LED or plasma. The downside is that DLPs are a bit more bulky (not much, though) and they typically can't be wall mounted like LCDs and plasmas. Also, DLPs are the cheapest and easiest way of viewing 3D content as pretty much all DLPs have some form of 3D display method like checkerboarding. I recently replaced my older LCD projector with a new DLP 3D capable projector and I absolutely love it. I'd say if wall mounting isn't a big priority, go for the DLP. If wall mounting is a priority, things become a tad more complicated.
