So in Sunday's paper there's this article about how to send your "sweetie" something personal. You take a wedding band (yup, I've got an old one lying around the house) and place it on a book (preferably one that contains romantic poems, a nice sonnet, or some passage that means something to both of you) and snap a picture. The ring creates a heart shaped shadow on the book.
Well, being the photo experimenter that I am (LOL!), I had to try it and it does truly work.
So . . . if you have a sweetie, or a sweetie to be, I'd recommend doing this very special, creative and personalized creation.
I'm posting a pic of what I created, but I'd like to add some advice. Be very selective about the passage that you place the ring/heart shadow on. Maybe some Shakespeare sonnet or that Margaret Atwood poem "Variations of the Word Sleep." Note: this stanza still makes me swoon - just sayin'.
"would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
and that necessary. "
I happened to have used "Omnivore’s Dilemma" and unfortunately text seen in pic show the following references: forty-proof corn, pigaerators, gobbledy-go, fermenting . . . I'm thinking not all that romantic . . . but what do I know!
Enjoy.
p.s. This post created in the spirit of "tongue in cheek." ;-)
