The customer is always right. The customer is always right. The customer is...
...always right.

Just finished a Website for a new client. One bone of contention was the home page photo that I took, which the client felt made her look "old."

Just got an email asking me to swap out a new photo she had someone take.

The new photo makes her look older...and a little scary to boot.

But she's happy...for now...and the customer is always right.

:-)

1. Customers are fookin assholes
I see it everywhere- Why people think they can abuse check out clerks, waiters or service workers of any kind boggles me. It makes me really angry. I always make it a point to say to the person "I hope all your customers aren't like that" Some people are just full time assholes.

3. I don't know what she sees when she looks at the photo she sent me
My guess is that she's another in a long line of people who spent too much time in the sun when she was younger.

And her appearance really doesn't matter to me one way or another...it's just that her reaction to the photos and videos I shot for the site was consistently "I look so OLD," and the new photo was supposed to rectify that, and...

...well, The Customer Is Always Right.©

7. No, this one is beyond that...
...but when she sees the photo, she's happy with the way she looks, and that's all that matters.

11. That site definitely fills a need...thanks, I bookmarked it.
Me: “Sir, to configure the modem I need you to clear your desktop. Right-click on ‘networking’, and then select ‘properties’.”

Customer: “It turned blue. I don’t see ‘properties’. Now what?”

Me: “You don’t see a selection menu?”

Customer: “No, the icon just turned blue.”

Me: “Ah, I see. I need you to right-click on the icon.”

Customer: “I am right-clicking! Nothing is happening.”

Me: “Are you sure you are right-clicking?”

Customer: “Yes! I am right-clicking. As compared to what, wrong-clicking?!”

Me: “No, sir. As compared to left-clicking.”

(There is a noticeable silence.)

9. My son does layouts for a local magazine
and he feels the same way sometimes, what they want is not always what looks good and he runs it past a few locals to see if he is on track. But the customer wants what they want no matter what or how much urging he provides them, so they get what they want. Oh well.

10. I once worked with a newspaper columnist who had to have her headshot taken again about every month.

Usually because she thought the current one made her look too old.

The joke was, with every shot she was looking exponentially worse.
