I'm a pretty honest man (my complete and utter honesty compels me to add the "pretty" modifier).

I'm a pretty honest man (my complete and utter honesty compels me to add the "pretty" modifier).
.
:P
.
.
So fiction has always allowed me a "dis-honesty outlet".
.
Probably explains why I have so much fun with the MiddlefingerMom persona.
.
.
.
I took two Journalism courses in college (our prof -- same guy in both)
would open each class with a current-events question. The other older
student and I would be the only ones with our hands up. The other (and
younger) students weren't interested in "the news". He'd look at us
and shake his head at the... ahem... current state of affairs displayed
in that classroom.
.
.
I did pretty well, but couldn't STAND journalism as it stripped away my
ability to lie -- my pressure release valve, if you will (I interviewed a
local pot farmer and my prof wanted me to submit it for publication in
The Philadelphia Inquirer... but I did not, just on the off-chance that
I might be sentenced for contempt of court for refusing to reveal my
source -- on principle AND the fact that my source happened to be
a good friend).
.
.
.
Anyways, I found this quote this morning (which inspired all this post's
blah-blah-blah).
.
.
.
"Fiction is a piece of truth that turns lies to meaning."
.
.
.
Yeah.
.
.
.
What he/she said.
.
.
.
.
.
.
(I also blame the fact that I'm reading Tom Robbins recently.)
