Happy birthday to my granddaughter
A pampered, demanding youngest child who grew into an outstanding adult, wife, mother, outdoorswoman, and the best cook I've ever met.

Now balancing motherhood, a full time job, and pursuit of a bachelor's degree and still the nucleus of her nuclear family.

The two of us don't get to ride horses much anymore, but it's a kick to see how she has grown.

3. Thanks. Every day she continues to amaze us
She's really grown into a super adult and she has the cutest little daughter in the world - our first great grandchild.

2. Such nice things to say
Especially considering what you thought of her when she was young, so rare for a grandparent to consider a grandchild pampered. Happy birthday to her too.

4. She grew up in the shadow of her older sister
Homecoming queen, honor student, yada yada yada. Everything came easy to her. This one was continually compared by her mother (our daughter) to the other girl, and usually not favorably. Not only that her other grandfather was a retired Air Force officer and clearly favored her beautiful and talented sister, so yes indeed, she was pampered. By me and her grandmother. She went camping with us, I took her duck hunting, she raised her 4H sheep at our place. She stayed over with us often.

We love all our grandkids but this one is special because she was the poster child for late bloomers and she has really developed into an outstanding adult. She's also the mom of our first great grandchild, the cutest little girl in the world.

6. Aw shucks
We have two other grandchildren but this one has a special place in our hearts. Her big sister was the golden girl and she kind of got ignored in all the hoopla. Besides her parents were both working and she spent a lot of time with us growing up so we're really proud of how she has developed. Of all my kids and grandkids (11 altogether including the ones we're acting as proxy grandparents for my late sister), she's the one I'd trust most in a crisis.
