New Absolutely Fabulous episodes in the works.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/absolutely-fabulous-return-bbc1-181081

LONDON -- Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley will reprise their roles as the champagne-guzzling dysfunctional celebrity PRs Patsy and Edina, in three new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, due to be filmed later this summer for BBC1.

The iconic 90s sitcom also featured a young Jane Horrocks as ditzy assistant Bubbles, and Julia Sawalha as Edina's studious and frumpy daughter Saffy. Both are set to reappear in the new episodes.

Though the comedy poked fun at the hard-drinking "career" publicity agents, it also provided a rare all-female written and presented comedy that delivered mass audiences -- as well as propelling the phrase "crack open the Bolly darling" (a reference to a fondness for Bollinger champagne) into the national vernacular.

The hugely successful show ran for five series on BBC1 until 1996 and will return later at the end of the year, a BBC spokeswoman confirmed. "We are just putting the final touches to the deal," she said.

Hopefully these will air in the US too.

4. I loved that show...
Those women tortured poor Saffy.
She was so cute and innocent and yet, she had a way of ridiculing both of them that was completely hysterical.
I can still see Patsy with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, digging through her purse looking for more cigarettes, and coming up only with her panties.

I can't wait.

Those women were a hoot!

6. WAY too politically incorrect for the 2010s...
now pretend I didn't say that and pass me the Stoli

p.s. why is it called ABSOLUTEly Fabulous when she is always drinking Stoli?

I'm VERY glad they're keeping the original cast -- I cringed when I first
saw there were going to be new episodes.

8. Oh god no
Ab Fab was absolutely superb in its time but there have been too many comedy revivals recently in the UK (Red Dwarf, Only Fools and Horses) that were just awful, serving only to remind everyone that the writers had run out of ideas when they stopped writing the series originally.

9. Found a clip of the old AbFab on Youtube
Absolutely Fabulous: Patsy Eats Something for New Year's! Was looking for the clip when she snorted a bee, but this will do.

10. Generally, I think that Thomas Wolfe was right -
You Can't Go Home Again.

But I am most definitely looking forward to this.

13. That's great!
I guess Jennifer Saunders has recovered well from her bout with breast cancer. Good for her!
