Can anyone make this signature out.

I bought this painting at a thrift shop in the early 90's for 30 bucks, it's big, about 5x5 feet and from somewhere around 1970 and I always wondered what the signature said in case it was painted by someone famous and worth $$$. Can anyone read it?

3. looks like a period after the first name, but long to be a shortened form.

Weird. I can make out a lowercase "i" in the second name, and would guess that it ends in "ing."
