And...there's a great letter to the Editors in the latest New Yorker commenting on some shoe designer or other who was touched by the fact that a woman in a wheel chair wore her shoes, and expressed that shoes might be important to someone who couldn't walk. The response went something like "Ms ___ might consider that being in a wheelchair made this woman the perfect person to wear her shoes."
