A food you just could not live without...
For me it's mushrooms. If I couldn't have mushrooms I'm not sure I could go on (culinarily speaking).

5. If you ever get to Nurnberg, Germany... try their bratwurst.
.
.
.
They have their own unique kind -- not much bigger than a breakfast link
sausage and often sold by street vendors 3-to-a-kaiser-roll with mustard.
.
.
.
I'm not a big fan of bratwurst. I was a HUGE fan of Nurnberger bratwurst.

Or, better yet, freshly ground. I avoid buying it most weeks, because I could polish off half a jar in a sitting if I didn't stop myself.

Fortunately, we can get good, fresh mushrooms of all varieties just about year round here (though portabella and morrels get pretty pricey in the dead of winter). YUM!

25. Do you have the desire to eat chocolate after eating chili? Just wondering.
The only film showing that craving I've seen, was Lethal Weapon. Martin Riggs always added crushed OREOs to chili. I don't, but I always want chocolate later. There is always going straight to the point and making a mole poblano with the chocolate in it already.

...often have chocolate as one of the ingredients along with chile peppers.

It doesn't taste chocolatey, though --- gives it a subtle flavoring that
wouldn't register as chocolate if you didn't know chocolate was in there.

60. Cheese. All kinds, especially goat. In anything. At any time.
It's the only reason my half-assed year and a half as a vegetarian was possible AT ALL, and the #1 reason why I wouldn't last one day as a vegan.

Not so much a food as a chemical: my beloved CAPSAICIN. A little goes a long way for sure, but there is no food in the universe that can't be improved by a little of it. Especially cheese. :9

Well-marinated beef, as rare as it's allowed.

(I may have to turn in my "woman" card over this, but, while I like chocolate fine, it's nowhere near my top 20 on this list. I'm totally a spicy/salty/sour/savoury person; I've never had much of a sweet tooth.)
