my once in a while beg to support local non kill animal rescues
Most of you know my cause so I wont give some holier than thou speech.

Katey..

Oreo..

and my baby..

ALL rescues.

Support your local non kill rescues..in my area the best is PAWS..in other areas it will be different groups.

One easy thing to do is to arrange with your local grocery/Sam's club or whatever you have to pick up busted or otherwise unsellable pet food and haul it to your local non kill shelter for them.MOST are more than willing to work with you once you get a name in the community.I put my 1/2 ton truck to use now that all the locals know me...i probably move a ton a week of food to our local rescue.

It's not hard to do..be polite and accept whatever they are willing to give..the hauls WILL go up as they get to know you.DON'T be arrogant...they are GIVING..be thankful for whatever they give.

AND Give what you can for shots/surgery that the rescues do on a daily basis. One dollar is a dollar that goes toward a good cause.

THANK YOU and sorry if I came across as preachy..it's my cause :)

3. Yeah, I think he has some Husky in him, too. He has the color markings.
Having three legs seemed to be his major set-back in getting adopted, but fortunately for him my kind-hearted fiance found him. He's a very loveable dog.

4. he/you were lucky to find each other
he's a doll and you are such a good person to adopt him  Rescues are my pet cause (pun intended) and we need more loving people like you giving the less than papered perfect dogs a good show.

If more people realized that..well..mutts...are the preferred dog health wise we would see much less inbreeding of the so called *pure* dogs

6. ONLY Oreo is a *pure* breed of mine
Oreo is a papered shi-tsu.....she is also BY FAR the dog we have with the most health issues.

Katie is a non papered Parson..possibly pure but who knows...healthy to a fault..and a pain in the ass attention monger.

Buddy..my baby..is half shep...half bernard...full bred spoiled.

Pure breeds are great but for a good dog who will love you NOTHING will beat a good rescue mutt

7. kitties
we also have our brood of kitties.

That org is known to me..don't know them personally but know of them...good group.

Have one cat we call doc..wife brought him home but didnt tell me he was a kit from a feral till after we took him...he is different :)

Buddy..the 160 lb dog...gives that 15 lb cat a WIDE berth :)...he learned fast that this is one cat who plays to win :)

That cat has brought home a live three foot black snake..a full grown live squirrel..a full grown live rabbit..it dive bombs our dogs off the kitchen cabinets....a fun cat :)

I am looking for a maine coon cat to adapt if anyone comes across one

9. I got a adult cat who had been abandoned from the vets 11 years ago. He was the best
snuggler I've ever owned.

11. Don't apologize for preachy. We all should have a cause.
And I did not read anything preachy. I am talking to a no-kill rescue group now to replace my recently lost cats, and they are just wonderful. One day soon, I will have a new kitty or two to introduce to everyone.
