and birkenstocks. I've was a preppy in grade nine but hippie always felt much truer to me. I've was an all black, artsy, alternative, in later highschool, but, in my defence, I was depressed at the time and trying to isolate myself from preppies. So hippie it is and hippie it will be as I age.

1. I love that! I am...
middle-aged Woot Shirt Woman.

I wear a tee and shorts every day. Or jeans & tee in the fall. I like a tee that says something. :)

Work is another story! Then I'm middle-aged fairly non-descriptive work clothes woman.

I love anything tie-dyed. I like bold prints. I have been grunge and punk in earlier lives. I was corporate ladder for a while. I have never been soccer mom, trophy wife, athlete, Ralph Lauren...

15. Hello fellow Shirt.Woot wearer!
Right now, I am wearing "New, from Entropy Records".

I have to say, a lot of the shirts I really like never make it into the fog.

I also like Threadless http://www.threadless.com but they are a little too expensive.

my favorite is called Well, This Just Really Sucks (with the scrabble letters).

Woot's SO easy to order from...click click click.

My kids love them, too.

56. I know what you mean about the ordering... makes it almost too easy!
I like "Well, This Just Really Sucks." Sometimes the titles help sell the shirt! And it is on sale...hmmm?!

I just received "Need More Land" in the mail. It looks a lot better than the picture. Although, the green is far more vibrant than depicted.

Your kids might find a few good shirts from the current Derby: Back to School!

60. Second that!
I have a million Woot and Threadless shirts.

And with free shipping and the COMPLETE ease it takes to order from them, Woot is dangerous if you don't want to overload your cabinet with T-shirts.

When I'm not rocking the graphic t-shirt though, I'm partial to the slim solid color tie / dark striped shirt / grey denim jean look.

Not the kind with the glasses frame taped together and a pocket protector, just the kind who wears flat shoes and unfashionable but comfortable clothes. I'm too old to sacrifice comfort for fashion.

5. I like this thread!
I'm in a weirdish category as I see it.

I have a tall athletic vibe, tanned and beachy.

I wear single color shorts and shirts, usually tank tops.

I go either barefooted or with Kino sandals.

I'm a runner, so I have the runner's look.

But I look like a total hippie cause my hair's about a foot long, although usually have my it tied back, so that cleans me up a bit.

Wear a generic ball cap, which gives me a little bit of a redneck look.

Drive a pickup, but it's a small clean one, so that undoes the redneck look.

I wear wire-rimmed glasses that have been out of style for several years, which make me look like a professor.

I look the same whether I'm working or playing.

I dress exactly how I did when I was 3,4,5,6,7 years old.

Crazy, huh?

I'm pretty sure most people don't know what to make of me.

Cool thread. Thanks.

6. Amazon Athlete would be about the closest.
I spent waaaay too many years hating my height, trying to act all girly when I could go up against any man in a physical challenge. So about 20 years ago, I finally embraced my strength and never regretted it!

I'm happy in running tanks, jeans or yoga pants, and hoodies. Although recently I had to tart-up for my friend's future daughter-in-law's wedding shower, and it felt like camouflage to keep my real self hidden.

Here:

But this is how I usually turn up for events!

7. These days? OVersized T-shirt and jersey pants or shorts
No bra. Barefoot in the house.

When I was running the farm and now if I have to do something around the farm my uniform is T-shirt and jeans. The big decision I make every morning was whether to wear a T-shirt with a pocket or one without. My work shirts are solid color T-shirts with no artwork. My work shoes are my leather walking shoes that have gotten too beat up to wear to town.

My going to town shirts have some sort of artwork - not team or company logos. I prefer birds and horses on my good shirts.

Hair - hasn't been cut or trimmed in ten years, but even so it's shorter than it used to be. It used to be down to my waist and so thick hair bands and clips could not handle it. I'd braid it in one thick braid, just to keep it out of my face. With age and maybe medications, it has thinned and is only a few inches below my shoulders. It's the most hippie part of me - I wash it and brush it and that's it. My hair does not believe in rules and will not conform to any hair style.

8. Depends on if I am in my office or at home.
In my office I am almost always in a cotton t-shirt and some kind of floaty skirt with some kind of flats.

At home it is usually an over sized shirt sometimes with shorts or sweats. No shoes unless I am leaving the house!

11. I for one really did wear a uniform
for 32 plus years I didn't have to worry about what I was going to wear that day. I had 12 navy blue uniform shirts and 12 navy blue uniform pants. Black shoes and black socks with a black belt. Now I'm retired and just 2 shirts and pants remain from all those house uniforms and my dress uniform and cover. I felt sorry for the civilians who had to wear something different every day.

12. Cool thread. Work uniform: Enviro(radical)/turtle/fishing shirts. Tactical/fishing pants.
And either steeltoed boots or flip-flops (or sneakers)

I'm a Marine Endangered Species Observer so when I'm on a ship I have to wear steeltoed boots along with my enviro/turtle shirts and tactical pants or bdu's.

When I get to work on a beach or a small craft it's tshirt, shorts, flip flops or boat shoes.

At home in Florida, it's pretty much enviro tshirts, shorts and flip-flops.

not a fashion person. even when young, my mom would put me together and buy my stuff. she was good. with her gone, i am lost. clueless. but my ankle boots are so cute, i think with a flowing type skirt they would be great so they could be seen. they look good with jeans, but just dont show off the pretty ankle part. i would never wear a skirt somewhere though. i dont go many places. and i dont like spending money on clothes, but nice clothes, i like high quality. $. see the issue? lol. ah hah

my work clothes are my everyday clothes - jeans, tshirt and converse - and my hair is maybe an inch long at this point. most of my tshirts have come from the thrift store or the internet, so none of them are plain and i've never seen people in many of the tees i have. for some reason, a 30-year-old woman wearing off-the-wall tshirts is very endearing to the people i manage.

this one is my favorite

I wish that could be my permanent uniform but unfortunately I have to leave the house pretty much every day. So, for work it's mostly business casual (with occasional dress-up days), boots or clogs, and hair down. For non-work it's jeans, tees, and sneakers (hair up or down, depending).

61. Jeans, teeshirts, running shoes for most of my day (riding boots or Danskos when not in trainers)
I wear a baseball cap virtually every day, hair in a pony tail with sunglasses perched or hung somewhere around my neck or on my head. Sometimes, when I'm dressing up, I put on a polo shirt but most of my shirts come from Goodwill since everything I wear gets majorly slimed, stained, spit on or torn.

Something "fancy" for me is a new shirt from Target. It's simply not worth it to buy any clothing item for more than $5 in my line of work as it's going to get trashed.

Now shoes! The most expensive New Balance trainers, Danskos, custom riding boots, Mephisto sandals and one pair of gorgeous Italian custom designer black shoes to dress up my jeans when I go out.

64. Generally fairly relaxed
flat-front khakis, button-down shirt or a button-up shirt with collar (always with long sleeves), sometimes in cooler weather pullover sweater/crewneck; black Dr Martens oxfords (which wear like iron, and last me on average 8-10 years a pair; I'm very happy that I can get ones made in England again now that I'm about due a replacement).
