Big Brother watchers
I don't have the Big Brother After Dark access and I'm not signed up for the CBS spoiler feed. I just put my money into the pot and take my random draw names for a pool.

Anyway, tonight's Veto competition will decide whether Shelley or Adam get taken off the block for possible eviction. I was just thinking what might happen should Jordan win the Veto: Shelley will put the screws to Jeff and Jordan to veto her nomination, but Jeff's natural paranoia will make him think he'll be the replacement (Jordan, as Veto holder, would be immune from being the replacement nominee). It's the kind of scenario that could really rip apart the alliances should Jordan refuse to take Shelley off the block.

Tonight's episode could produce some fireworks.

2. No
But I used to read Television Without Pity once upon a time. The episode recaps by Wing Chun were about the funniest things I'd ever read. Then the founders left the site for other things, and it hasn't been quite the same.

3. Well, there was a little surprise
Jeff figured out ahead of time that winning the Veto might not be in his and Jordan's best interest, and "let" Adam win the Cornhole Contest. Adam takes himself off the block, and Danielle puts up Brendan, pretty much as expected.

In handing over the phone call from home to Shelley, Jordan officially becomes the Nicest Player Ever, and voting her out of the house will be slightly harder than kicking a puppy. Anyone who wants to win, though, is going to have to kick that puppy sooner or later.

As for the eviction vote, Brendan definitely gets Rachel's vote and Shelley definitely gets Khalia's and Porsche's vote. I see Jeff and Jordan probably voting to evict Brendan, but Rachel and Brendan are expert at schmoozing, as we've seen a zillion times so far. If the can convince Jeff that keeping Brendan around will mean there's someone in the house who's a bigger target than Jeff, Jeff and Jordan might turn on Shelley and vote to keep Brendan in the house. That might mean that Danielle would be forced to cast the tie-breaking vote to oust Brendan, but I don't see her having any trouble doing that. That means that Adam's vote might also be key in whether Brendan stays in the house. I don't think Adam is all that loyal to either Brendan or Shelley, so he could be persuaded either way.

If Shelley goes and Brendan stays, Danielle or Khalia will probably be the next person evicted. Danielle can't compete for Head of Household this week, and Khalia is highly unlikely to repeat her fluke win of two weeks ago. Porsche is just plain bad at competitions. If Adam wins HOH, though, it would make for a very interesting week, and it could be that Danielle and Khalia will be safe.

4. It was a good episode last night, but I'm surprised how much more composed Rachel is
when Brendan's there. I like the way Shelley stands up for herself against those two.

Everyone would be stupid to keep Brendan in the house. I hope Rachel soon follows him. Having them in the house & having Dick drop out early ruined the season for me.

I love Jordan! I believe she's as sweet outside of the game as she is playing it.

I'm crossing my fingers, hoping Rachel doesn't win the HoH tonight.

6. I expect to see the full Rachel Water Works tonight
Waah, waah, waahhh, "My fiance" this, "my fiance" that, waah, waah. You want something to cry about Rachel? My pool picks were Evel Dick and LaWon the Clueless, so I'm already out of the money. They haven't talked about Dick at all, so I'm wondering if he didn't have to go back home to wear an ankle bracelet or if he had Hepatitis C or something. Except for that one little cameo about his take on the season so far, they've had nothing about him.

I think Shelley made a good move, confronting Rachel in front of folks like she did. If Shelley had laid low, I think the household opinion would have set itself against her, and let Rachel off the hook. By facing off with her, Shelley was able to spread the animosity around. It was very telling when Brendan said he didn't want to comment or get involved. In the broadcast, Rachel began to say that Brendan's reluctance to talk made it look like Rachel was a big fat liar. The comment got cut off, and I don't know if anything more came out of that. But I agreed with Rachel, that by failing to "get involved," Brendan was bolstering Shelley's credibility.

There have been a lot of twists and turns so far, with coalitions and alliances coming together and flying apart. If Brendan is voted out tonight, I think the Jeff/Jordan/Shelley triumvirate becomes the power locus, at least as long as Jeff trusts Shelley. But he's so suspicious of everyone and everything, if Shelley says something that Jeff deems to be insufficiently obeisant, she could be next on the chopping block.

8. I don't get Brendan
It's clear from the clip they showed, Shelly did approach them about possibility going to the final 3 together. Why would he not call her out?

I do think Jeff/Jordan will have a lot of power. I think Jordan will win this season.

7. I'm rooting for Rachel
Edited on Thu Aug-18-11 09:46 PM by blue_onyx
Just like last season, I'm supporting Rachel not because I really like her but because she's the least bad.

Daniele is way too cocky, as is Kalia.

I really don't like Shelly. I would prefer she just own the fact that she's lying to everyone. Instead, she is trying to pretend like she's has the moral high ground. The sad thing is I think she actually believes that she's never lied.

Jeff is a homophobe and one of the worst people ever on BB. Sadly, I think he will win HoH tonight.

Porche is just annoying. She looked like she was doing well in tonight's HoH so I wouldn't be shocked if she won. It could be interesting if she did win.

Shelly I just can't stand. Even gives lying on a reality show a bad name. Porsche is cute, but arrogant. Kalia got in too much with Dani's crowd for my liking. Adam has just floated through. Jordan already won.
