CONFESS!!!! What one retired TV show would you want to bring back?
What TV show no longer on the air would you like to revive? You would get the same exact cast (somehow we'd resurrect the dead) and hopefully the same talented writing.

Me - I'd love to have the original "WKRP in Cincinnati" back. There was just something freaking amusing and original about that show. Seriously, who DIDN'T know that Turkeys' couldn't fly?

1. All in the Family
I'd like to see Michael, Gloria and Archie argue about Iraq and Bush* like they did about Vietnam and Nixon.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

We need a show like that. Archie would be a Bushite instead of a Nixonite.

37. But you know what would happen?
The freepers would think, "Man, someone who thinks just like us!" and make him their hero instead of laughing at him. They would wonder why there was a laugh track.

They would probably assume that the show was trying to show how ridiculous Mike and Gloria were.

"704 Hauser". Starring John Amos. :loveya: Great actor, with a supporting cast of great actors. I loved the show, but it lacked what the original AitF had... Besides, it would have worked better in 1975 when shows requiring thought were more popular.

Failing that: Smothers Brothers' Comedy Hour.

Or, here's an old, old one: You Are There.

Or try these: Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman; Fernwood Tonight (or America Tonight).

I can't remember the name of the show on health back in the early 1970s, with fake commercials ("Come on in to the Bun and Run, it ain't food but it sure is fun").

Anyone else remember the AFL-CIO anti-racism commercials in the 1950s?

24. Wings. I freaking LOVED that show
Between Lowell's complete weirdness, Antonio's hilarious meekness, and Fay's incredibly ladylike snarking, I would usually end up with a sore stomach by the end of the episode.

I dutifully recorded it to watch later-- even with a 16-20 hour a day work/school schedule.

32. Space: Above And Beyond
The most subversive military sci-fi show ever conceived.

Nasty as hell. It showed what the average dog soldier has to go through in wartime. Okay, it still cleaned it up a little, but it showed the effects of drug abuse, PTSD, family breakup, sexual harassment, corruption in the ranks, and minority-group issues. They even got R. Lee Ermey to play the boot-camp DI in the pilot episode.

When Fox-TV cancelled the series, we found out that the war between the Earth and the "Chigs" had been deliberately started by a large corporation with its tentacles in several governments.

In other words, the corporation(s) bought themselves into governmental power, and started a ruinous war to enrich themselves.

I'm still waiting for it to appear on DVD.

was taken off the air because conservative Catholics objected to it. The network didn't even allow all the episodes to be shown.

This was no Priest (the British film about, among other things, a gay priest), but a look at some complex human beings who happen to be priests and nuns. I guess you aren't supposed to show clergy as human beings, only as saints with halos.

In any case, I'd like to see one of the cable networks dust that series off and show all the episodes.

For some reason, I just really liked that show. I watched it on Nick at Nite, before it turned into the Cosby/Full House marathon channel.

It's comedy heir, Chappelle's Show is just as funny. And the Daily Show rivals anything produced from original SNL. It's too bad that there really isn't a show with the same spirit as All in the Family.

I'm just kidding!!!

I don't know...I loved the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons back in the late 80s/early 90s. Bring back the TMNT!

Edit: I'd also love to see Buffy the Vampire Slayer back on tv as well, as some have pointed out above. Spike was the only kick-ass character on the show (and Oz--played by Seth Green), though, but now Spike's on Angel...so what's the point?

68. The A-team
Whats better than watching the hapless feds chasing around a bunch of war vet mercenaries who are fighting corporate bullies for the helpless little guy? Plus they build something cool every episode and blow alot of shit up. good times

Fred Sanford would have me rolling on the floor, and it had THE all time coolest theme song in my book.

73. Anything with Lucille Ball! Or Seinfeld!
I would love to see new episodes of I Love Lucy or The Lucy Show (how many people have actually heard of this one?). Of course, there would have to be a new actress playing Lucy, but hey...

Also, someone needs to put Seinfeld back on the air. It'd require a new actor, but I believe it could be done. that show was priceless!

I thought that show was hilarious but it didn't last long. That's only if I could pick just one. Some others, all short-lived, would be:

Get a Life
It's About Time
My World and Welcome to It
Supertrain
