Redstone was good people
I'm sad to think that we'll not see the likes of him come this way again.

Farewell, My Friend.

3. Yes he was. It's a sad day. I hope his wife and kids are seeing the outpouring of love

for him here today, and that that outpouring helps them in dealing with their grief, even just a tiny bit.

12. Want to share a PM he sent me May of 2010 ...
I think he'd be fine with it. He had made a post about the pain he was in, and I replied with my empathy, as a young person who is disabled with a chronic pain condition. Redstone sent me the PM unprompted, and I have held on to it since ...

I cannot express how much I appreciated your post in my thread about The Pain, where you told me about you have the same.

You said you're 25 years old. That's SO young to have to feel as you do.

But I'll tell you something: I was horribly injured when I was eighteen. And I'm fifty-six now, and I've survived.

I've survived probably only through optimism - it may sound trite for me to recommend that, but it does work.

Start each day, if you will, by sitting outside and listening.

Listen to the birds, especially. Note the difference between their calls and their songs. Listen, please, to the unconscious joy of the birds' songs.

They sing to celebrate the day.

As you and I, as Pain People, should celebrate the fact that we've survived another day.

May you have many more days.

Redstone

It's those personal notes that make this place great.

And he was one of those greats.

For as long as I've remembered, he's been part of DU, and I really enjoyed his posts. The PM included in this thread is really wonderful; I am so sorry he's gone.
