Well, I talked to mybest friend about his brother's coke habit
I knew he already knew so I figured we should discuss it. I don't know if he thought it was to the extent it is. I told him that if they wanna send him up to my town to live with me for a bit it's cool, and he said his dad liked that idea. We'll see though. It's alot of responsibility. And I think they'll try putting him in rehab first. The main thing is he has to get away from his friends and dealer.

So it goes on.

1. I hope he gets better
Probably a better idea to have him go to rehab than to stay with you. That is a huge responibility for you to carry. You would have to watch him day and night, best to be helped by the professionals.

2. A little bit of a wake up call for me
Lately, when I go to the bar and only then, I've been doing some of that stuff. Now, when I go to the bar I tend to want to do some.

I'm probably in denial but I do only do it when I'm in the bar.

I hope your friend gets the help he needs.

4. I briefly used it as a teenager
when I hung around with a crowd that used it. All their lives seemed to be spiraling out of control one way or another, so I left the group, and stopped using it.

The appeal of coke is beyond me. Like strong caffeine that keeps you up all night - feels weird in your nose. People on it tend to act like jerks, people on meth are even worse.

At least pot makes you feel good - but the lethargy and short-term memory loss it brings on suck too.

If I knew anyone that had it anymore, I'd probably have a joint or two a year, on a special occasion, but since I don't, I don't.

3. The reality is that it will do no good.
Until he himself makes the decision to stop nothing will change. I recommend that your friend and his father attend an ala-non meeting. These people have already gone through what your friend and his family are about to embark on. Here is a link to Narcotics Anonymous
Good luck.
