how many times has the Daily Show jumped the shark?
I vote for twice; once when Liz Winstead left, then back, when Jon Stewart, THE finest JOURNALIST on TV---EVER---(well, Bill Moyers is up there), joined

interesting, sometimes puerile discussion here

1. Jon Stewart was the only one in media criticising Dumbya for years
I think you probably need to go elsewhere to find an audience for your criticisms of Jon Stewart.

2. Reread the original post
The idea was that the show jumped BACK when JS came on the show.

My opinion: It jumps the shark every day (& back again)because it's willing to take big, old goofy chances.

3. I think it jumped day one
Then jumped back with John, then almost jumped when Mo Rocca left, but Bush has given the show ample amounts of material to work with, and it's still great.

5. He said it jumped when Liz left the show
because of conflicts with that smirking rectum Craig Kilbourne.

I agree with the OP: jumped when Liz left, jumped back when Jon joined.

But I am worried that Stephen Colbert may have left. He cohosted Majority Report last week and didn't appear on Daily Show all week. And they introduced a new guy Wednesday night. Please Stephen, don't go!!!!!!!!! I luuuuvvvvv you!

6. There was an episode last season,

where the producers announced they only had room for one tall, cynical guy with glasses, and Stephen and Ed had to compete Survivor-style to see who would get to keep his job. Self-fulfilling prophecy, maybe? I know I had trouble telling them apart when I was a DS rookie.
