I got replies to my Sinclair affiliate emails! Read 'em

I wasn't sure who to email. They don't make it very easy to contact the station manager. So, here's what I got back.

My Comment: I have recently learned that Sinclair Broadcasting may be running an anti John Kerry documentary on its stations. The documentary is entitled "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" and it attempts to paint Kerry unfairly. I hope your station would not air such an obviously politically motivated broadcast. Please let me know what your station's intentions are on this matter.

As much as I wish we weren't. . .I believe that is indeed the case.
That decision is made at the corporate level and I encourage you to
e-mail them for a response. I would be very interested to see what they had to say.

I've heard those same rumors and share the same sentiment however as of now, I don't think it's going to air afterall.

FYI-We are owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group based out of Baltimore and a lot of what they decide is out of our hands, unfortunately. If you'd like to express your views, please don't hesitate to contact them as we don't have a say in what they air on WVTV.

As a journalist, I keep a close eye on what is presented as part of our newscast and if something like that were to air, it would be separate from our 9pm news and not affiliated with us locally.

And those were good replies. WB18 is in my hometown as well, and I actually caught News Central once. It was a half hour I'll never get back. But local news does tend to be pretty unbiased as a whole, and it sounds like the people who emailed you seem to think that way. Good for them.

The local affiliates do have some level of control - they can "pull the plug."
