PA: Specter undecided on OT rules!
I was in Washington DC yesterday to meet with the staff of my Senators and Representatives. Since Sen. Specter is the manager of the Labor/HHS/Ed Appropriations bill, I asked his legislative assistant (LA) what Specter's stance on the WH OT rules are. She said that although Specter doesn't like the bill to be amended too much, he still has no official position on the OT rules.

The Senate will take up the bill at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, 2 September. This gives PA DUers the month of August to write to Specter and tell him to oppose the overtime rules.

1. It would seem to me
that an awful lot of people in Pennsylvania would be opposed to the new OT rules proposed by the cheap labor conservatives. After all, isn't PA a pretty strong Union state? Steelworkers are located in Pittsburgh and it seems to me that there are a large number of Union members all over the state. All you PA D.U.ers know what to do. Express opposition to these bad rules.
