Let's come up with a calendar for activism topics

ie, something that will make LTTEs, blogs, e-mails and letters to our representatives more timely. Obviously current news will drive some of our communications. But we can use things like:

Labor Day to talk about the plight of the American worker, minimum wage, Outsourcing etc.

Back to School (September) to talk about the GOP's attacks on public education.

Tax Day (April 15) to talk about the deficit and the GOP's poor fiscal record.

Memorial Day to bring home the fact that thousands of Americans have died in an un-just war based on lies.

Religious holidays to point out that Jesus would never condone many of the actions and policies of the current GOP and neocons. For example, he would never condone a non-just war based on lies. He would never condone a government allowing millions of kids going without healthcare (the least among us), etc.

Halloween - talk about how this administration is a wolf in sheep's clothing - hiding behind such pastoral words as "Clean Air Initiative" and "No Child Left Behind" when actually the consequences and impact of these programs are devestating.
