I'm passing the word along for anyone who's been following the story of the 7 year old boy with 'two mothers'.
Fred Phelps of godhatesfags.com fame is having a protest in front of Ernest Gallet Elementary School in Youngsville, Louisiana on January the 12th.

"God hates the ACLU & selfish, filthy dykes pretending to be families with kids."

This is a web documentation of a lawsuit filed against Phelps in the Topeka court system. It goes into great detail about Phelps ministries, and the Phelps family history. It doesn't paint a pretty picture of them, I assure you. When I read it I was torn between being enraged and sickened.

3. I have to admit, Ohio Dem...

I went there for the humor factor. I got a big kick out of some of the things I read. It frightens me that there are people who feel that way.
It bothers me that they're furthering the confusion that poor boy is having to go through needlessly.

And even a home computer could produce a better flier! But they probably think computers are the work of Satan! So they use moveable type. hehehe

6. They're the Archie Bunkers of homophobia.

They spew their shit, but they look so stupid doing it.

Archie spewed conservative shit, too, on All in the Family, but he looked so dumb doing it that it was really liberal propaganda, in a way. I love that show, and take great comfort in knowing that Archie was portrayed as stupid on purpose. Carol O'Conner was the last thing to a bigot, and he did a great job making conservatism look like it really is. Reminds me of Bob Boudelang.

4. Turn it into a fundraiser!

I saw this used with Old Fred before. It works wonderfully. Make it well known and covered, and get sponsors to pledge dollars for every minute he protests. He therefore is indirectly supporting the very cause he dispises. To the poster who said the "godhatesfags" site isn't real. Its real. I lived in Kansas prior to moving to Portland and saw first hand the methods used by this man and his family. His church is in the same city as the State capital, Topeka. He protested my church many times. The fundraising idea is the best response I have seen to his antics. Every minute he protests he is raising money for the ACLU, AIDS, or the gay and lesbian community. Personally I think this man is a closeted homosexual. I heard also that he is one hell of an attorney, and knows very well what he can get away with. Regardless, he and his family (which makes up most of his congregation) are obviously very wounded souls.

I know a few people who can't believe this guy is real, but this is just the kind of thing that does open wallets.

Hanging out across the street from him with ACLU membership applications, gay rights promos, donation cards, etc. is guaranteed to get some support.

"Hey! See that wierd guy over there with his kid holding the 'SLUT' sign... Wanna help do something about it?"
