For those in the Seattle area,
I just received the following communication:

Subject: Banned Oliver Stone Interview with Fidel @ Central Lutheran on Thursday

The next scheduled SCFC meeting will take place on the second Thursday of
August, the 12th, at 7pm at Central Lutheran Church, 1710 11th Ave.
(across the Playground from SCCC)
We will show the banned video that was made by Oliver Stone for TV but
was shut down because the Station owners felt that it was not anti Castro
enough.
Mr. Stone, who has described Mr. Castro as one of the world's wisest
people, journeyed to Cuba in 2002 to make El Comandante. It was screened
at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2003.
In the 93-minute documentary, the Oscar-winning filmmaker jokes with the
Cuban leader about Viagra. He brazenly opens some of his mail and rummages
around in the back seat of his Mercedes, finding a pistol. And he shows
the leader of one of the last socialist nations wearing a symbol of
capitalism Nikes.
HBO had planned to show the film last spring. But the network later pulled
the plug..
Discussion follows Contribution toward work to end the Travel Ban and
the Blocade.

In solidarity,

pnorman
