Clinton supporters if Obama is our nominee.

Obama supporters if Clinton is our nominee.

Liberal/progressives when either Clinton or Obama is our nominee.

In other words, what will each group do when their preferred candidate is not on the GE ballot?

1. Clinton supporters for Obama. Even Obama agrees that his supporters aren't loyal Dems.

4. I would have to agree
Motivating first time voters to vote again is even more difficult than the first time. By the time of the GE the newness will wear off and they may decide it was not worth the effort.

2. Clinton supporters. They were Democrats before she declared.
Obama supporters seem to be newbies to politics or old timers with axes to grind.

3. Hard To Say
The sad thing about a primary is that you don't get to hear to much about the candidates platform and priorities. I believe, after the Convention, we will hear a great deal more and the platforms will be scrutinized. I prefer to vote issues, not candidates.

5. Just some anecdotal type stuff that I have been reading here and elsewhere
indicates that MANY grassroots donors and activists have pretty much been turned off by the rudeness of the brash NEW Obama supporters coming into the local headquarters and trying to run things and just generally being obnoxious.
So much so that MANY are finding alternate causes to support outside of politics.
THAT is going to hurt the party in the short term when the literal BASE that has always been counted on is gone.
It is happening everywhere.
