Today:

Hillary lost Texas.

She is within 135 Delegates of Obama. By her campaign measure, she is no longer viable. I guess she will gracefully bow out this week? Leave on a high note?

4. what is SO hard to understand
The delegates have NOT been awarded and WILL NOT be awarded until June.
Hillary is the presumptive winner UNTIL then.

8. Well, what about Penn's declaration?
And she did lose TX. Even if it isn't "official" yet.

13. The primary vote
The caucus only started last night.
It is a 3-month multi-tiered process before anything is actually decided.

14. I thought you were talking about the Democratic nomination, not just TX. Sorry.
Obama will be the winner of TX come Friday evening.

NOBODY will reap any rewards of the caucus until JUNE. This was only the first step.
The delegates elected last night will go to another caucus on March 29 when the entire process will be repeated and delegates will be selected from THOSE delegates.
The delegates elected from that process will go to the state convention in June when the entire process of voting will be repeated again. At ANY point--until the final caucus...votes can be changed from Hillary to Obama or vice versa.

Crowded Texas Caucuses Leave Results Up in Air

By Matthew Mosk
So who won the second step of the Texas two-step?

Texas Democratic Party officials still have not released even a final unofficial tally on the results of the caucus portion of Election Day in the state. The results are hardly insignificant -- the caucus portion of the election yields one third of Texas's 193 delegates.

The caucuses were supposed to start at 7:15 p.m., but huge crowds delayed many of the 8,000 precinct caucus events for hours. The precinct chairs were supposed to call in the results from their caucus to a call center. Campaign sources say the call center had 150 phone lines, which were jammed much of the night.

The last published count from the caucuses -- with 36 percent of precincts reporting -- show Sen. Barack Obama leading by 52 percent to Hillary Clinton's 48 percent.

Hector Nieto, a spokesman for the Texas Democratic Party, said the party is "still receiving calls, picking up information on the results," and he said the party is "double checking results as we're getting them. We want these results to be accurate."

Asked if either campaign had lawyers monitoring the process, Nieto said no. "These are unofficial results," he said, referencing the process by which caucus results are only finalized at the state party convention that starts on June 6.

her feet to the fire. Matthews and company are just happy that they have something to talk about for the next 7 weeks. They have become the mouthpiece for the Clinton campaign. "Michigan, Florida blah,blah...SNL blah, blah...Nafta memo blah, blah.

15. That and they are lazy. The media is too lazy to find the real story so..
they let the Clinton campaign tell them what to write, print and say. I agree with you. I think it is high time that Obama's campaign hit back. Obama needs to get off the defensive and get on the offensive.
