Dean's poetic retort
Vermont's poet laureate, Grace Paley (one of the group Pickles uninvited to the WH symposium last year) has endorsed Kucinich.

The article says:

Contacted about the endorsement, Dean’s campaign –– which has a commanding lead over Kucinich in both the polls and in fund-raising –– took the matter in stride and responded by issuing a statement in the form of a Haiku poem:

“The campaign goes on

We will one vote at a time

Take our country back.”

I must say, imo, that is absolutely adorable/clever/hilarious.

1. Ah, a campaign with a sense of humor
a nice breath of fresh air. Excellent response from the campaign.

2. Nice deflection of a greater issue.
Why is it that people like Ben and Jerry, and Grace Paley are not fans of Dean's? Maybe because they KNOW his record? Maybe because they KNOW his populist rhetoric is a mask for his compromising centrism?

4. I admire Grace Paley's work
but her politics are far too unrealistically left for me. As for B&J, they sold out to Unilever. Unilever!

12. It's Ben Cohen who has endorsed Kucinich
not Ben & Jerry's

Ben Cohen did not want to sell the company to Unilever but was outvoted

what can you tell me about Dean's relationship with Unilever?

6. Dean's campaign respects Ben & Jerry's voting rights and the rights of
others to their opinion and support.

It's unlikely that Dean & Co. are going to obsess over someone 'not liking them' or to, as other candidates have done, try to 'be everything to everybody'.

7. Everyone knows his record
people on this board who support him have acknowledged he is a moderate on fiscal matters and a liberal on social issues. We also know his record in Vermont which is a good one and one which the people rewarded five times with the governorship. Ok, so we have lost Ben and Jerry and Grace Paley as supporters (which by the way we don't know that they are not fans of Dean's--they may like him fine, but feel Dennis is closer to their political views--I can accept that). I'm proud that people like Pat Leahy and Jim Jeffords are supporters of Dean's. I expect Bernie Sanders, a man who I admire very much, will also endorse Dennis K. So be it.

Dennis K is a great person and so is Howard Dean.

10. There's this, from the day of the announcement speech
snip>

Dean drew support today from much of his state's political establishment. Democratic Sen. Patrick J. Leahy and independent Sen. James M. Jeffords, a former Republican who left the party, teamed to introduce Dean today.
