Swine Flu
The media has blown the swine flu way out of proportion!

Actually, I disagree with you, but might you expand on your OP a bit?

4. The details
The amount of people that have died, is minimal in the world outside of Mexico, the only reason they have died is because of inadequate medical care, and more people die each year of the regular flu than of this, this swine flu is a very diluted strain, and it is similar to making a common cold look like the end of the world, people die of that too, it's not as bad as the media makes it look.

5. Imagine this:
H1N1 has a ZERO percent mortality rate in the future. People get sick, but NOBODY dies. What's the economic impact of even 30% of the world's population being out of work for a week?

That said, viruses mutate. That's what they do. The more hosts they infect, the greater chance of mutation. There's a damn good reason for attempting to minimize the number of people exposed.

...and THAT said, the media gives us exactly what we ask for. They're in the business to make money and whatever sells, leads. It's an individual's decision whether or not to panic (and there's never a reason to panic). The media is giving us information...hyped at times, but it's still just information.
