Name Republicans that you like or at least respect
Edited on Fri Feb-25-11 11:08 AM by Kucinich Feingold
Similar to this HfBoards thread. http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=786650

Now I know we don't like most Republicans but there was quite few good names. I despise 95% of them. This is like trying to like the Habs to me. I hate them but respect them for having great teams and a great rivalry with the Black and Gold.

Like for me: Lincoln(both Abe and that Rhode Island governer), Ike, Roosevelt, Earl Warren, and Fightin Bob Lafollette

10. Because a thread also similar to this was on HfBoards
About Democrats. The guy who posted that thread was the same guy who posted that thread about "republicans that you". The guy was a conservative in Canada and I think he would do better among the Dems since cons in America are far different then in Canada.

It's way right. Anti-teacher, and much, much more. I can read, you know.

For example, here's the title of what is a very, very active thread:

"Is there anything worse than Teacher's Unions?"

The consensus there is that there isn't anything worse than teacher's unions. The question is: Why are you promoting this forum here on DU?

Edited on Fri Feb-25-11 10:44 AM by Kucinich Feingold
The right-wing on that site is just people who just listen to Rush and other douchbags talking points. Dems like TimKassel, MayDay, and Big McLargehuge are great people on that site. It's just that people like Devil-Fan-Ru runied the politics forum so I don't go on there too often. I talk mostly hockey there.

Edited on Fri Feb-25-11 11:03 AM by Kucinich Feingold
Most of you think he stole Gore votes when he did not. Democrats aren't perfect and have tons of bad names in their group. I'm not a Republican by any means so just to be clear. Sometimes, we have to choose the evils in our life. FDR was pals with Stalin but that didn't mean he was some egomanic who murder tons of his own citizens.

22. There is a difference in being "pals" with a dictator
and negotiating with them for the good of your country. FDR realized he needed Russia in order to squeeze Hitler, and Russia also needed us for the same reason as Hitler was going after Russia. After the war was over, the "friendliness" came to a screeching halt in Berlin.

That's about it.

She's just brainwashed. (Oh wait...they're all brainwashed.)

Well...she's my mother. I still love her, even though she's a brainwashed repuke.

That's all I got. :smoke:

I talked to her on the phone this morning. She started talking about the unions in Madison. I told her we better not go there. Then..."I gotta go mom...I love you!"

I try to tell someone that Obama is a citizen of the United States but he never listen. I hear complains about Puerto Ricans in my family when I try to tell that they need welfare for a reason. But they keep saying "but there lazy":grr: :grr: Why are some of them called Democrats?

29. The Republican Party pre-1920s I respect for their progressivism
e.g. Theodore Roosevelt.

And modern Republicans? The moderate kinds and some ex-Republicans who became independents. Charlie Crist (FL) and Lincoln Chafee (RI) come to mind. Chafee even wrote a book criticizing the Bush administration, Against the Tide, and I'll read that soon.

Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, the two US Senators for Maine who voted for the stimulus and repealing DADT and generally moderates in the GOP, I respect too. Collins also collab'd with Maria Cantwell (D-WA) to introduce the Carbon Limits and Energy for America's Renewal Act.

Great Balance of social and defensive. Just like the constitution states. Promote the General Welfare and provide for the Common Defense

From that he gave us the interstate system.

33. None that are alive... and here is why.
The similarities of Right-Wing Conservatives and Al-Quaeda terrorists:

Both believe their religion is THE way of life.
Both have no regard for the well being of other citizens.
Both believe in being HEAVILY armed with firearms.

Both believe the American government is infringing on their territory.
Both make statements and sound bytes under the protection of the internet.
Both follow the leadership of absurdly rich men.
Both declare war on those who don’t agree with them.
Both heavily use propaganda to brainwash the uneducated.
Both are anti-education.

Both believe in male supremacy.
Both believe their logic makes sense and must be followed.
Both make violent attacks on the American government out of righteousness.
Both make strong attempts to mislead and persuade the population through lies.

Both love Big Oil.
Both operate in militias.
Both are hypocrites.
Both want total control and power, no matter the cost.
Both are pro-war.
Both are pro-religious governance.
Both are anti-gay.
Both are anti-choice.
Both are anti-women's rights.

Every terrorist from Timothy McVeigh to Osama Bin Laden to Eric Rudolf, to Byron
Williams to the Shoe Bomber...

...every terrorist is a Religious, anti-progress Conservative.

Every time.
