Boehner and the Tea Party remind me of Barbossa and his pack of miscreants

Boehner himself is a dubious character just like Barbossa in the movie but that is not the worst part about him. The worst part about him is that he leads a gang of lunatics(the Tea Party) far more bloodthirsty than him and just like Barbossa, Boehner is willing to do anything to stay in power.

A completely soulless man. Lets just hope for the sake of the people of America that all this has a happy ending

Barbossa got 'nicer' in the sequels. Don't see that happening to Boehner. Perhaps the only hope is trying to make sure that Boehner and the Tea party crazies don't get a sequel in 2012

Well i kind of want the Tea party to come into power. NOT that I support them but i'm sure that if they came into power in 2012, all of their base will become democrats becuase if they come into power we are screwed. No joke. But if they come into power and do what they say they will. Nobody will ever vote for them again.

..revisit this old thread of mine in light of the tea party threatening to bring economic calamity to the USA by refusing to raise the debt ceiling as things stand as of today near the end of July 2011 with just a few days left before the August 2 deadline

A few points to be noted while observing Boehner's behavior during this whole episode

1. It is clear that Boehner is NOT a tea partier. He is a traditional wheeling dealing republican. If he didn't have the tea party crazies to contend with, he would have cut a deal with Obama long ago. The problem for him is that if he cuts a deal with Obama the tea party crazies would have his head figuratively speaking.

2. The most important thing for Boehner is not the ideology. What this man seeks most is position power and influence. The man himself is not crazy but he does lead a bunch of lunatics

3. What this means is that although Boehner isn't dangerous by virtue of any ideological intransigence, the danger he poses comes from his lust for power and the lengths he is willing to go to keep it.


EDIT:
Remember that scene where Barbossa is getting ready to spill a little blood on the cursed treasure to lift the curse by making a small cut in the hand of the intended victim while one of this miscreants screams something like "Bleed him out completely just to be sure".

Replace Boehner with Barbossa and any random tea party crazy with that miscreant and this is what they are doing to the USA
