If you're still buying stock..
and don't believe a huge crash is imminent across the board, may I suggest Boeing. I have lived in Seattle & Everett all my life so I kinda have a feel for Boeing stock. It's depressed lately because of continuing bad news about the 787 program (particularly delays). That's a short-term deal, the 787 will be fine. Right now the stock's around its lowest point in 2 years after a steady 5-year climb to a max. of about 105. Right now selling for about 75, seems like a pretty good bargain to me. Assuming you buy and hold for a year or more.

2. Yep. All in all it adds up to a bargain in my book.
Too bad I'm not an investor... yet. Boeing would be in my portfolio 'cause it's in my bones. I even worked there for a few years.

3. That's darn sweet.
Home town booster. It is a bit early though. You will really love what a bargain this and other great brand names will be in a few more months.

The fish is still floppin in the boat.

5. Probably true. We'll see. If you buy and hold, you're good either way
buy some now, buy some later, hold it all.

On the other hand, we could have a depression that lasts 10 years. Wouldn't wanna have anything tied up in stock in that case.

4. I'd bite. There's only two commercial airframe...
builders in the world now, and Boeing does more than just build new airplanes. I'm not convinced we're heading for total collapse, although I'm also not convinced we're not.

If, however, we're about to live in a world where new airplanes aren't going to be built in my lifetime, nothing you can do with your money would make any sense.

(Except hiring a private army to guard your personal stash of food and water.)

6. You'd probably have to pay your army in food and water instead of money :-)

7. I just saw Cramer recommend Boeing tonight
Although it doesn't always mean a good thing.

I don't know too much about that industry, but your analysis seems solid. I really don't see Boeing going bankrupt, and that failed deal was more of a political blow than a financial one.

There are a lot of good bargains out there now, assuming that we don't have an Apocalypse. The best time to buy is during a recession, but you have to have a strong stomach to ride it out.

13. Ah, good point.
lol

Nevermind then.

But really, you can get a tip from an anonymous poster on a discussion board and then verify from some more reliable sources that the tip is likely valid (or not).

Boeing's a blue chip stock, not such a big risk as long as you are a buy and hold type investor and can afford to wait. And of course as long as your portfolio is diversified.
