Online savings accounts
:hi:

I was wondering, can anyone here recommend an online bank? I had an account at INGdirect (the Orange Savings acct.) for awhile. They were slow to process transactions and I noted that a recent review I found of them (and for that matter most of the other accounts like this) had dropped quite a bit.

I noted the newest online savings account out there - Dollar Savings Direct. It has a two star rating with bankrate.com which is not good yet presently it is paying 4% APY.

My money market account at my credit union is now paying a whopping .99% and that is shameful IMO.

If you have any success stories with any of these online banks, please share this info.

Thanks very much for any help.

1. I recently opened a savings account and bought a CD from
Capital One Bank. They are relatively small, but my experience with them has been uniformly positive. I am getting over 4% on the savings account and over 5% on the CD. I have done all of my transactions with them on line, which is just the way I like it!

OTOH, my experiences with Bank of America have been really spotty and I can not recommend them.

:hi:

2. I've used
everbank.com for several years. No problems, very good service.

4. I have online savings with Capital One, and haven't had any big problems with them.
You might take a look at them. They were offering higher rates than my local bank and credit union at the time.
