Seriously!

I left on good terms but the economy...blah blah. They let go about ~100 or so... large law firm of 2000 people. Including some attorneys.

Wish me luck!

2. There's a bloodbath at law firms right now
and for every six or seven figure lawyer getting pink slipped there are probably ten five figure support people getting the axe.

I know it's mighty cold comfort, but you've got plenty of company.

7. Very true. My spouse's firm has laid off staff but few attorneys. Now they

sit around trying to figure out how to get their calls and keep their computers working. It's a mess. My spouse, to his credit, keeps saying "why don't they just lower our (attorneys) salaries a little" so everyone can keep working? Why not, indeed.

3. Are you trying public health-stimulus has $ for computerization. There may be
opportunities with private contractors as well as state govt.

State govt s may be in process of developing job descriptions.

Find the right person to ask in federal and state govt s about what may be coming down (not always easy to find right person).

I still haven't found a job and the few I sent resumes too either found another candidate or the companies decided not to fill the position at this time.

I am using the time right now to upgrade my mainframe technical skills with web based ones.
