Wind power has been in the news a lot lately as new wind farms cause controversy around the country.

This morning, a new power plan will be launched looking at ways to harness energy from the ocean.

Internationally a lot of work is being done in this area but until now New Zealand has largely ignored the potential.

Energy minister David Parker discusses the plan.
