in News Departments > Projects & Contracts
by SI Staff on Monday 21 January 2008

Qualcomm Inc. has installed 417 kW of solar energy to provide power for one of its campuses in San Diego. The PV systems, composed entirely of Kyocera Solar Inc. PV modules, are projected to have a combined monthly output of 42,745 kWh.

The PV installation contributed to Qualcomm's Gold LEED-certified campus - one of the largest in the U.S. Sixty percent of the campus' lighting requirements will be powered from the PV arrays, which consist of 1,440 Kyocera 200 W modules and 678 Kyocera 190 W modules, encompassing both rooftop and solar-carport parking structure installations.
