Montgomery Energy to develop N.D. wind project
Houston Business Journal - by Monica Perin Reporter
Montgomery Energy Partners of Houston is partnering with the Denali Energy Co. of Baxter, Minn., to develop a 1,000-megawatt wind power project in northwest North Dakota.
The Hartland Wind project would be that state's largest wind farm and could become the largest in the country when fully built out.
The first phase would use 333 turbines to produce 500 megawatts of electricity. A second phase would add another 500 megawatts.
Montgomery Energy is an affiliate of Navasota Energy Partners LP of Houston, which operates two natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation facilities in Texas -- Quail Run Energy Center in Wharton and Colorado Bend Energy Center in Odessa -- which produce a combined 1,650 megawatts of power.
