New Jersey gets 3 wind farm proposals
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/newstex/AFX-0013-23545963.htm

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey utility regulators are weighing three different plans to build giant wind farms off the coast in an effort to generate power in a more environmentally friendly way.

<snip>

It's not clear when, or whether, the state Board of Public Utilities, will choose a project to move forward.

One plan comes from Public Service Enterprise Group (NYSE:PEG) , the Newark-based parent company of Public Service Electric & Gas, the state's largest power company. It, along with partner Winergy Power Holdings, wants to put up 96 turbines about 16 miles off the beaches of Cape May and Atlantic counties.

Hoboken-based Blue Water Wind NJ Energy wants to put up 116 turbines more than 15 miles east of Atlantic City. The third bid came from Fishermen's Energy of New Jersey, which wants to put 66 turbines off Atlantic City.
