3. Thank you.
What is happening today...the Neo Cons are trying to destroy our earth. Cut down the Redwoods? No one has done that since the last century when we moved to protect them. Bush destroyers put us back 100 years.

4. Happy Earth Day to you
I am again this year renewed by the blooming of my daffodils and will begin looking for sprouts of asparagus.

5. There's nothing like Earth Day...
...to make me feel like a complete fucking Grinch.

Gaia doesn't need our help, but we sure as hell do. For this Earth Day, the celebratory global pastry should be a Haitian Mud Cookie.
"On Earth Day, Eat the Earth" -- just like we do every other day of the year.

9. As an experiment...
I decided to post my happy-earth-day message without either my usual gloominess or sarcasm. It was hard, but I did it.

For the rest of my usual posting, all bets are off.

10. I saw that. I was impressed. I just couldn't leave well enough alone.
As I say on my web site, "All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration."

So in that spirit:

Happy Earth Day.

6. During one of the early festivals
in San Fransico (the Wavy Gravy days in the early 70's) there was an interesting game.

A large ball (15 feet or so in diameter) painted with the map of the Earth and two teams of people in concentric circles. The inside circle of people would try to kick the ball out of position and the outsiders would try to keep it in position.

13. touch the earth today
go outside, dig around a little, feel her, smell her, talk to her.

Back in the day, the book, "Touch The Earth" was one of the most popular books around.

20. No, I can't say that I have . . .
I know that skunks and coons love to chow down on bees. It's a good protein source, and I'd be willing to guess that they probably taste not unlike honey . . .

Or so they say.

21. I was thinking that most grubs are described as having a nutty flavor
but I would guess that bee grubs would also have a honey flavor, and they might be really tasty.
