dramatic decline in bumblebees and other insects in my area
Do any of you see the same thing. I am about 15 miles north of New York City.

1. early on when the pears were blooming I seen bees but none since
We have lots o flowers plus clover and yet still no bees.

2. we have lots of bugs.. but no bees....
there still seems to be a decent amount of butterflys. This bee thing is very disturbing. I live in a very rural area.

3. More Bumbles this year
To date it seems to be running higher than in previous years. Although typically I wouldn't see many compared to numbers of Honeybees. And the numbers of Honeybees I see are still way down from years past.

4. Haven't seen a single honeybee this year
I can't recall if there were any last year, either. We've got bumblebees, but not as many as last year. I'm in central Maryland.

I grow lavender, hyssop, nepeta, blue salvias, butterfly bush,and agastache, which are all powerful bee attractants. So if there were any honeybees around within flying distance, they would be in my garden. I can't believe there aren't any.

7. at least you have some bumbles. there are usually two or three
over on a japanese honeysuckle every day as it is in bloom. There should be hundreds.
