1. Speaking for the Mom and Pop retailers out here, let me offer a little more.

One, we often do offer more, like free delivery and/or removal of your old products, or at least are open to working something out. Two, the money you spend with your home owned business usually turns around a couple of times in your local community, meaning not just more local families are touched, but more local taxes are collected. Three, that personal service you receive should include information about the products you're looking for, whether it can be produced domestically, etc.
Give us a try, we'll work harder for your business ( or at least we do in our store)

3. That's it in a nutshell, we're here for a customer in ways that big box

just can't compete with - so they do it on price and volume. It makes it hard to cover all our bills and earn a living having to compete with that
