The Global Warming Deniers Are Restless
Just when you thought it was safe to acknowledge the unequivocal reality of global warming…..

Just when you thought the U.S. government was ready to admit that it has a serious emissions problem, and do something about it….

Just when you thought the skeptic party was over…

No way: There has been a strong run of nonsense from global warming "skeptics" and deniers lately. They are not ashamed, and they are not changing their tune. In fact, it sounds like they are gearing up for the next battle.

7. I like 'em, too
They are better entertainment than cable TV....

I like the funny screwed-up look they get on their face when you try to explain the most basic things to them.

8. Don't dismiss so easily - please
I see opinion research on a regular basis that demonstrates their effectiveness, unfortunately we really do have to think about this issue of the denier industry.

3. There are several here at DU.
Maybe one or two will join the fray.

Ultimately, we WILL have a cold spell. If it's a cooling phase of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, it could last from 5 to 20 years; in fact, it is possible that it is starting now. The "skeptics" will then spend the time ridiculing, "proving", and otherwise browbeating everyone they can into compliance. Carbon gas emissions will then be of no concern for a decade or more.

And the next warm phase will be real warm.

Unless we are vigilant, that is. But "skepticism" is a popular, ego-enhancing past time on the Internet and among the news media. Nobody ever suffered from declaring that they were going against the "sheeple".

6. We're also in the negative phase of the North Atlantic Oscillation

Which means the jet stream will dig out a big ol' cold snowy trough in the eastern US this winter.

(if it remains negative)

9. it's easy to deny..
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 03:54 PM by stuntcat
when the billions of tons of trash we pump into the thin atmosphere every day are invisible..

when you simply can't credit "His image" with pretty much raping the entire planet..

yeah, some will deny it long as they live. No matter how bad things get there are millions of people who will never EVER let it go, it would mean admitting they were wrong from the beginning of their denial.
