Good Thing They Didn't Throw Shoes - Oz Prime Minister Climate Hecklers Wrestled To Ground -
PRIME Minister Kevin Rudd's launch of his greenhouse gas reduction plan was disrupted when three protesters approached him and were wrestled to the ground.

During a televised speech at the National Press Club, three young female environmentalists rose from their seats, walked towards Mr Rudd and heckled as he detailed his plans on climate change. "We need hope,'' one yelled. "We're not going to walk away from (action on) runaway climate change,'' called out another.

"No, no'' the protesters chanted as Mr Rudd spoke of emissions targets.

The Government has plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by five to 15 per cent by 2020, a target slammed by environmental groups. A group of security officers and Press Club staff restrained the young women and ejected them from the venue.
