I just applied to have 100% of our electric come from wWindpower at Xcel Energy.

1. Way to go!
This is absolutely the most effective way for an individual to encourage a renewable build-out. Was there a premium? if so, how much?

There is a premium, but it's cheap. Something like 7¢ a kWh.

3. 50% wind + 50% small hydro here.
My electric bill remained stable as oil prices rose.

5. I live within 5 miles of three hydroelectric plants and
I pay some of the highest rates in the nation. Go figure.

It felt good to opt-out of fossil fuels.
