The Myth of the 1970's Global Cooling
---

I realize the corporate bought media outlets have been feeding us differently and rewriting history for years...but are we surprised?

From the AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY:
The Myth of the 1970's Global Cooling Scientific Consensus

1. I thought it was like one article that the RWers keep citing
on global cooling in the 70s.

Articles I found looking through all the stuff my grandma had cut out of the papers in the 70's. The articles tell exactly what's happening now.
According to the scientists, these articles say, our trashing the atmosphere could lead to warming.

This is one of them.. the writing is my Grandma's, THIRTY YEARS AGO.

5. Do you know where that article appeared?
It looks to be dated Oct 1978, is that correct? I'm actually compiling as many of these articles as I can for a research project -- I have nearly twenty now. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

It could have been the Robesonian, a little local paper in NC.
OR it could have been in the Fayetteville paper that she usually subscribed to.
OR it could have been in a South Carolina local paper..

The "Oct 78" is what she wrote on it before she stashed it away. The articles had been stacked so long the paper wasn't even faded, so I scanned them as soon as I got them home in case they started crumbling from the air touching them lol
I have a few more articles I'll be glad to share. I'm just not positive which paper they were cut from. Most are AP articles that probably were printed (and ignored :p) in a lot of papers.

This one doesn't have a date and I don't know what paper it's from. I know it was from the 70's though because of the box it was in-

I posted in my photobucket some more of the articles I found in her papers. It's a lot of bandwidth to post all at once here but I can send you the links in a message.

4. Come 2011 or 2012
...when this La Nina is well over and when sunspots start returning the media will be all atwiiter about how awful the global warming is. Technically, they'll be wrong then, too, since one or two years mean nothing in terms of Climate Change.

The media's problem is that they don't know the difference between science and what a single scientist says. Look at the miserable way that they cover medical studies.

Or perhaps they do know the difference but they want to report "the controversy?"
