5. If any of the information came from Al Gore, it is wrong.
They won't even read it...it is wrong. Whoever led the charge to destroy Gore did a thorough job.

Not until the water is lapping at their or their heirs' knees in their beachfront homes, will they believe we have a problem. Even then, it will be Clinton or Obama's fault.

I gave up trying to educate them a long time ago. I also gave up saying, "You're smarter than to believe those lies." as they apparently weren't and it was a waste of breath.

10. No amount of effort trying to "educate" them is too much.
It gets them to think, to question, to doubt. At the very least, it can help reduce the impact when they spread it to other corners of the 'Net and get other people to believe it. (You might need to chase them down for that, though.)

If you give up entirely, that just gives them an excuse to say "they won't even defend it, because they have nothing to defend it with". Of course, if you DO defend it, they'll say "look at this guy getting worked up hur hur" or ignore you.

12. I've defended it for so long, I've lost friends. They are hardcore antigore
I've never seen anything like it. I have spent 8 years pointing out the error of Bush and his cabal...finally got them to believe part of that. But the environment? They are locked into their views and no one is going to change their minds.

Fifty people could try to convince them that there is a problem that is caused by man. ONE Repug can tell them all fifty people are wrong and they will believe him. It's incredible. Now, God, they'd believe as the culprit, but that's OK, as it is His design.

We're talking "sheeple" here, for the most part. Well, most of them, but they turn that on or off depending on the day.

13. As anti-intellectual of them as that sounds...
...I think part of the problem may be whether or not you're debating them on their terms.

Or whether or not you're attacking their problem at the source by getting rid of their sheeple-dom.

6. Remember
these were the people who thought Bush was a great president. They aren't the brightest bulbs in the box and no amount of science will convince them that global warming is real. They really aren't worth the time and energy to rebut.

7. Check out . . .
. . . Global Warming Crock of the Week on youtube. It's great and I believe this issue was covered, though it's probably beyond the 2 syllable language grasp of most right wing nuts.

8. I kinda gave up on the guy
I sent him a paper from Woods Hole Lab, something from the Ohio State U's Institute
of Polar Studies, and a summary of the IPCC 2007 report ..... he seemed like a nice
enough guy but I think he is a Glen Beck fan.

11. We might be thinking of different people
The Global Warming Crock of the Week is an incredible resource for rebutting denialists. The production values are good for youtube and the information is very hard science. This is one of the first ones. He does one a week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0JsdSDa_bM
