8. The cartoon means: American soldiers die to

preserve your right to complain about the high price of oil. In the cartoonist's twisted view, freedom of speech is being protected in these current wars. I think the guy has it all wrong. On 9/11 we were attacked by a loose coalition of Muslim extremists, we were not attacked by a specific nation. In my view this is why we took the wrong action by invading Afghanistan and Iraq. IMHO, the MSM is a greater threat to freedom of speech than terrorists.
