Leading wind turbine manufacturer Siemens has partnered with consumer electronics giant Samsung to build a turbine production facility in the Canadian Province of Ontario. Ontario has been very successful so far in its attempt to lure new manufacturing jobs to the province. Under its Feed-in Tariff program, Ontario has required a certain amount of components and labor to come from within the province. A number of solar and wind companies have set up shop in the last 9 months.

Ontario's goal is to build a new clean energy workforce of 50,000 jobs. A number of onlookers have raised concerns about the ability of the province to create enough manufacturing capacity to meet the influx of applications under the new FIT program.
