Governor Ted Strickland and other government officials took part in the dedication of Ohio's largest solar farm near Upper Sandusky Thursday.

The 12-megawatt facility is owned by PSEG Solar Source, and includes more than 159,000 ground-mounted panels on 80 acres, producing enough electricity to light and cool more than 9-thousand homes when the sun is shining.

1. That is wonderful
There is so much use for the land under the panels too. Cattle would love them for deep shade in the summer. Chickens (like this silver-laced Wyandotte--no relation, I don't believe) could graze that field and roost at night under there with the help of some shepherd dogs. Multi-tasking extraordinaire!

3. So that's a Wyandotte--pretty bird
Cows could scratch themselves on the towers, too.

2. Wonderful!
We just traveled through the Denver airport and saw array after array there. What a great use of open space. I wonder how much clean and danger- free power could be generated if we used commercially owned open spaces wisely.
