1. Perhaps they should be slow roasted by a solar collector...
or beaten to death by windmill blades...

or drowned in the ocean tides...

or given a toxic dose of biofuels.

Boiled in oil is soooo pre-peak petroleum.

2. Unfortunately a lot of us are
If you have a 401K you probably have stock in Exxon-Mobile without even realizing it. Another thing, if all the stockholders were to demand an end to this kind of behavior, wouldn't they have to comply?

I don't know myself.

5. nope
I was in college in the late 60s/early 70s when the Viet Nam protests were hot. In one class, a professor was debunking the idea that shareholders 'own' and control a company. The big target then was Dow Chemical, who made napalm among other war-related items. He said an annual stockholders meeting could go like this. Someone from the floor (there would be thousands there if everyone attended) would make a resolution that Dow no longer contract with the Defense Department. Every one of the thousands on the floor shout "Aye." When asked if anyone is opposed, 5 men sitting to one side raise their hands, and the motion is defeated. In addition to the stock owned by company officers, 5 institutions held a majority of the stock.

3. That's a bit harsh
but I do believe most folks who have brand loyalty to any gasoline over McGas at a Brand X station should be wearing dunce caps.

8. Careful, Hugo's becoming more autocratic every day

We may be seeing a classic case of power corrupting.

They don't sell Citgo in NM, so I stick to McGas.

9. I was
Unfortunately, the only Citgo gas available around here was at 7/11 and they copped out on us...

The other problem is that the "no-name" brands buy their gas from the majors so it's sometimes hard to know whose gas you're buying unless the station is "branded".

6. No, no! That's not the way to do it!
Too much chance that the boiling oil will be supplied by Exxon/Mobil.

Boil them in biodiesel! ;-)
